Education
Few schools in Indonesia, except for those catering to the well-off sector of society, are well-funded. While government schools in Jakarta receive better funding, there are some private foundation schools catering to the poorer sections of the community, which have extremely limited resources.
Other schools, especially those established to meet the needs of street children and drop-outs, need outside support to do their work in providing basic education and vocational training. ANZA provides regular support to several such schools in Jakarta, and tries to help with special projects such as providing new school furniture and renovations.
Occasionally, where our contacts are reliable, we are able to help extremely needy schools outside Jakarta on a one-off basis.
Helping individual disadvantaged children to stay in school is possible through our Student Sponsorship Scheme.
